Melanie Jayashankar is our content creator and a practicing attorney.  After working for other law firms, she started her own practice in 2015. in Jackson, TN.  The MJ Law Firm advocates for individuals all over the Southeast who are in need of SSI or disability benefits.  Melanie has worked with uninsured individuals who need assistance with medical care while going through the disability process.  She was forced to find medical providers willing to see low income patients.  Collecting this data over the years led to the starting point of creating MedMap.  More information about Melanie's work can be found at her firm website here:  MJ Law Firm, LLC .

Jani Radhakrishnan is our website creator. She lives in Memphis, TN and is the Director at the Center for Information and Analytics (CIA) at Regional One Health. She has a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and a Master’s in City and Regional Planning (MCRP) - and is a Certified Prevention Specialist. Jani’s professional and academic background revolve around addressing health inequities and environmental racism through GIS mapping, data visualization, and storytelling. Jani is passionate about social justice and advocacy. She is most well-known for Co-chairing the 2017 Minority Health Conference. She has lived/worked/played in Tennessee, North Carolina, Ireland, and Washington DC. Outside of work, Jani provides professional writing and design services through JR Professional Writing.
